FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: April 7, 2010
(MARIETTA) — Jason Shepherd, Republican candidate for State House District 37, announced today that his campaign will report a total of $20,875 raised as of the end of the March 31, 2010 reporting period.
“Our message of responsive, limited government is reaching the grassroots and they are responding,” said Shepherd.
Shepherd’s campaign received 54 donations this reporting period for a total of 215 donations since the campaign began. More than 87% of those contributions are $100 or less.
“I continue to be blown away by the out-pouring of support from not only friends, family and business associates, but also people who I have met along the campaign trail,” said Shepherd. “With my opponent being financed with big donations from special interests, I’m proud that my only special interest is the every day people of the 37th District.”
Shepherd, along with State House Candidate Sam Teasley (HD38), will be officially kicking off his campaign on Tuesday, April 13, 2010 with a reception at the home of Michael and Tricia Pridemore. Tricia Pridemore is the founder of the Cobb County 912 Project, an organization that, according to the group’s website, is “designed to bring us all back to the place we were on September 12, 2001. The day after America was attacked we were not obsessed with Red States, Blue States or political parties. We were united as Americans, standing together to protect the greatest nation ever created.”
