Two Columbus residents will help guide the Georgia Federation of Young Republican Clubs through this year’s elections.

H.L. Barnett and Josh McKoon were elected to the group’s executive board at a two-day convention held recently in Columbus.

Barnett will serve as the group’s treasurer and McKoon as the national committeeman.

‘I think we have a great team,’ said Chairman Jason Shepherd. ‘The wide range of experience and diversity we have will make this a tremendous year for young Republicans in Georgia.’

Young Republicans from across Georgia came to Columbus to choose their new board, which has members from Kennesaw, Conyers, Savannah, Atlanta and Columbus.

The Georgia Federation of Young Republican Clubs works with other members of the Republican Party to assist party members throughout the state. It has just under 20 clubs and more than 1,000 members in Georgia.
